About the role
At Paperclip, we have ambitious goals to make our innovative technologies broadly accessible. Ensuring that our GPU platforms can distribute these solutions to millions of users in a reliable fashion requires a world-class compute infrastructure.
As we scale the number of GPUs, users, and overall size of Paperclip, having a dedicated team to support this infrastructure is crucial. The Engineering Manager for the GPU Platform will be responsible for leading one of our compute teams, focusing on the design, deployment, and management of a massive compute fleet that can grow to meet our evolving business needs.
This role is remote and available globally, offering flexibility and the opportunity to work with a diverse team from around the world.
In this role, you will:
- Lead and manage a high-performing engineering team responsible for our GPU infrastructure.
- Design, deploy, and manage a large-scale compute fleet to support our products and services.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with product, design, and business stakeholders to ensure our infrastructure meets business needs.
- Drive the scaling and optimization of our GPU platforms to support increased demand and user growth.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement, mentorship, and technical excellence within the team.
Skills/experience needed:
- Experience managing high-performing engineering teams in a fast-paced startup environment.
- Proven track record of hiring, managing performance, and managing out engineers as needed.
- Extensive experience in cross-functional collaboration across product, design, and business stakeholders.
- Technical depth and expertise in scaling infrastructure systems.
Coachable/nice to have:
- Direct experience working with Kubernetes.
- Experience working with cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Prior experience working at a hyper-growth company and scaling a team in that environment.
